New to church

Welcome. Whether you’ve just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our parish.

Some key information about the parish…

Where and when does the church meet?

Our parish meets every Sunday at 8.00am, 9am and 10.30am for our Sunday Services and at 10.00am on Wednesday.  Aim to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you get a seat in time for the service to start. See the Parish Calendar for more details.

We meet at: Holy Trinity Church, Main Rd, Bolton le Sands, LA5 8DU

And at: St Mark’s Church, Main Rd, Nether Kellet, LA6 1ER

There is limited parking available on the roads outside the churches.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go.

Our Communion Service includes hymns, bible reading and prayer with a talk from one of the leaders at the Church. All are welcome. Tea and coffee are served in the church after the service.

The Morning Prayer Service is prayer and bible readings and can include hymns.

What happens to the kids at church?

If you have kids that will come to church then please bring them.  We are a “child friendly” parish.  We have lots of toys and books at the back of church for them to use.

There is a children’s groups for little ones of pre-school age and Junior Church for young people of primary school age every week at 10am. The groups meet outside church and join in the service for communion. The first time you come you will need to go with your children and register them.

For more information about what happens in the children’s work please visit the relevant age groups.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your ‘normal’ clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.  If you are new to the parish say hello to the person next to you and introduce yourself.  Relationships are a two way conversation.

I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them.

Please feel free to contact us. If you want to know who works in the church please go to our contacts page.

Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
