Sunday 29th March 5th Sunday in Lent – Passiontide begins

Dear All

We can’t gather together as church now but we are still church, worshipping God in the homes of the people here in Bolton-le-Sands and Nether Kellet and in homes across the world. We are still able to be the praying people of God and to the risen Jesus, walls are no barrier at all. “I am with you always” is his promise to us. The bonus is that our seats at home are far more comfortable than church pews and we have technology to help join us together. On Sunday morning The Bishop of Burnley, Bishop Philip, will lead us in a short Sunday service on the  Diocesan YouTube channel The service will last around 25 minutes. This will run ‘as live’ and be available to watch starting from 9am and will remain on the channel for further viewing. I will be joining in on Sunday morning, praying for our parish together with people from across Lancashire.  Do remember that clocks go forwards by one hour this Saturday night!

Bishop Philip has also given us a video reflection as to what it means for us to be a church in exile which is available now on the Diocesan YouTube channel.  Finally, let us pray:

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us
from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

God bless.

Nancy
