Volunteering Opportunities at Holy Trinity and St Marks 

The parish of Holy Trinity and St Mark’s is a registered charity (charity no: 1144401).  In order for it to serve it’s mission of bringing the message of the gospel to the people of Bolton-le-Sands and Nether Kellet it needs volunteers.  There are many opportunities for people to become involved using the skills and enthusiasm in this essential work.

Worship:

What we do: We are responsible for the worship at Holy Trinity and St Marks

Pastoral Care:

What we do: Our vision for this service is to support our local community, as part of Jesus’ teaching to ‘love your neighbour.’ We believe in the value of listening, and making time for people.

Children and Young People:

What we do: We are responsible for the young people at Holy Trinity and St Marks.

Finance:

What we do: We are responsible for the financial affairs for Holy Trinity and St Marks.

Property: (Fabrics)

What we do:

We are responsible for the maintenance of the fabric and grounds for Holy Trinity and St Marks.

Gardening Team:  Help to maintain the grounds of the church

Qualification/Skill: None

Commitment in time:  As and when you are available

Cleaning Team:  Helping to keep the churches clean and tidy.

Qualification/Skill: None

Commitment in time:  1 hour per month.

  IT:

What we do: Provide an IT infrastructure which enables the PCC to manage the affairs of the parish.  We have “cloud services” for all documents.  We also provide support for parishioners with their personal IT.

Parish Online Office: Supplied by Google.  Maintain the infrastructure and ensure security of the facility.

Qualification/Skill: Understanding of cloud hosting.

Commitment in Time: As and when required.

Communications:

What we do: To provide effective channels of communication about the activities of the parish through the website and social media.

Digital Marketing. Use Facebook/Instagram to communicate with the digital world about the life and activities of the church and it’s partners.

Qualification/Skill: Ability to use social media

Commitment in time: As and when.

Website Maintenance:  Monitor and maintain the parish website.  This does not include adding content.

Qualifications/Skill:  Experience in WordPress website.

Commitment Time: 1 hour per week.

Website Editor:  Update and maintain the content of the parish website.

Qualifications/Skill:  Experience in WordPress website.

Commitment Time: 1 hour per week.

 

Messenger Editor:  Manage and produce our monthly ebulletin “Messenger”

Qualifications/Skill: Experience in using Mailchimp or similar software.

Commitment Time: 2 hours last week of each month.

The Link Team Member:  The Link is produced each week as our parish weekly bulletin.  It is printed and posted on our website.

Qualification/Skill:  Experience using Microsoft Word/Google Docs.

Commitment Time:  Very occasionally when the editor is unavailable.

Social Events:

What we do:To provide a programme of social events for the parish of Holy Trinity

 

Social Event Planning: Initiate, help and support with social events.

Qualification/Skill:  Ingenuity, good planning, team work.

Commitment in time: Varies depending on what activities are being planned/implemented.  You don’t need to be involved in all events, just those you are interested in.
