Holy Trinity Parish Visitors
Our Vision
Our vision for this service is to support our local community, as part of Jesus’ teaching to ‘love your neighbour.’ We believe in the value of listening, and making time for people.
- Housebound
- Sick
- Elderly
- Bereavement support
- Families in need of support
- Holy Communion
- Prayer
- Visits to residential homes
The visiting team consists of church members who have volunteered and been identified to fulfil this role. Each member of the team is trained and DBS checked in line with good safeguarding practice. Regular supervision sessions are held and volunteers can also contact the vicar and safeguarding lead between these supervision sessions if needed.
The person visited can be referred for a visit and chat, with the option of prayer and also Holy Communion if they would like. All persons visited would need to be in agreement with the visit taking place.
If we feel that the request being made is not within the bounds of what we are able to offer, we will endeavour to signpost that person towards other local services.
Confidentiality
The team understands the importance of confidentiality, and all visits will be arranged in advance. The visits will be made by two members of the team. Our visits are not to take away the support of family and friends, but to be an additional support. Whether these visits are one off or more regular would depend on the circumstances of the individual being referred.
Contact
The visiting scheme can be accessed by completing a referral form. Forms are available by contacting the visiting team coordinator,

Referrals can be made by the individual, family, friends and partnership agencies.
Safeguarding
The parish of Holy Trinity in Bolton le Sands is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies. The safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults is an integral part of the life of the church, set out clearly in legislation, and is everybody’s responsibility. As a parish, we aim to provide the safest possible environment to enable our children to grow and flourish, and all adults to feel safe and welcome.
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
