St Mark’s Nether Kellet is currently undergoing a period of review, as we consider the church’s future. We are keen to hear from Nether Kellet residents, and any who have an interest in St Mark’s, regarding how the church can be better utilised and sustained in the years ahead.
Whilst Bolton-le-Sands may be the bigger village with the bigger church, it is important to me that Nether Kellet is also well served. The building is currently under-used, and this a situation that I hope we can improve.
Reverand Peter Hamborg, vicar of Holy Trinity and St Mark’s says:
“I am keen to understand more about Nether Kellet in general, so that the church can support the things that matter to local people. Answering questions like, ‘what do you like about living in Nether Kellet?’ And ‘what are the things that concern you?’ will help shape how we think about the role and purpose of the church.”
A social event in Nether Kellet Village Hall has been organised for the evening of Saturday 16th November, as a way of gathering people together to think about the church’s future (and have some fun in the process). By also attending local coffee mornings, and other village events, we hope to discern with residents of the village what part St Mark’s has to play in the life of our parish. We need to know what people think
If you want to discuss any of this with me, I would be happy to hear from you. You can email me at [email protected], or telephone 01524 823106. Or come down to one of our services and have a conversation with me. I lead a Holy Communion service at St Mark’s at 9.00am on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of the month. On the 2nd and 4th Sundays, services are held at 10.30am and led by members of the congregation.
Details of our pie and peas supper night are shown below, and we have plenty of tickets available. Why not come along?
