Just one week since it was officially launched across all our communications channels more than 1000 people have already downloaded our new discipleship app!
Are you one of them?
Our successful app – called ‘Fruitful’ – is available for everyone in the Diocese to download NOW from Apple’s App Store or via Google Play.
The ‘Fruitful’ app will support people in our parishes and schools of all backgrounds and all ages to grow in confidence in their faith.
It provides a great new digital space, available 24/7, to read the Bible; inspire prayer and encourage response in worship.
We believe it’s the first discipleship app to be launched anywhere in The Church of England and it can be downloaded using its full name ‘Fruitful: The Diocese of Blackburn’; or use the QR code alongside this story to go straight to it.
The app has been developed through the Making Disciples Team at the Diocesan offices and will enhance the main aims of our collective work for our Diocesan ‘Vision 2026 Healthy Churches Transforming Communities’. Through a variety of seasonal and all-year round resources you will be supported to …
- Know the scriptures better and be equipped to be confident Christian disciples
- Pray with greater depth and urgency for the Kingdom of God to come
- Offer worship in spirit and truth through the ministry of Word and Sacrament*
To coincide with the launch, you also can engage with Bishop Philip’s brand-new video-based Lent Course on the app (it’s also available on YouTube).
The rest of this Parish Update will aim to explore the app in more detail and we would also appreciate any questions, comments and insights into how you are using the app as well. Email communicate@blackburn.
* Please note the app is limited to offering worship though the ministry of the word only, via viewing online services.
