Lacuna Upper Voice Choir at Holy Trinity

2nd July 2023 7.30pm

We once again have the Lacuna Upper Voice Choir to sing for us.  They were so well received on their last visit we just had to have them back again.

Tickets are available from the choir, in church or from our webshop. HERE

Lacuna means many things.  The root of the word is a serene place, by a lake or bay.  More broadly, it refers to a silence, space, or rest — which can be filled or created by words, ideas, sounds.  In music, a lacuna is a long silence or rest, which can “induce a state of serenity (or tension) in the listener through its contrast to ‘normal’ music consisting of sounded notes.” (Wikipedia)  Through beautiful sounds and silence, we hope to bring lacunae to you.

Lacuna Upper Voice Choir is an amateur chamber choir that rehearses in Milnthorpe, Cumbria and performs periodically around south Cumbria and North Lancashire.  The women in the choir come from a variety of musical backgrounds but are all dedicated to making beautiful music together and to communicating to their audiences through that music.
