Popular Lenten Lunches make a Welcome Return

As the Holy Season of Lent approaches our minds turn to the journey of encounter and change that we make as we prepare to enter into the mystery of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection at Holy Week.

One of the popular Lenten events at Holy Trinity  was the weekly Lenten Lunch.  The lunches took place each Wednesday of Lent finishing on the week before Palm Sunday.  People from around the village gathered at Holy Trinity for a soup lunch.

The event has proved very popular and we are pleased to announce that it will run once again this Lent.  Before each lunch there will be an opportunity to meet and chat.

There is no charge for the lunch but a collection will be taken.  Profits from the lunch will be given to The Olive Branch in Lancaster.  Their mission is to support those suffering distress caused by addiction, broken family relationships, poverty and homelessness, and to enable individuals and families to resolve and alleviate their difficulties.

Booking is not essential but please let us know if you intend to come which will make planning easier.  Email: [email protected] by Monday of each week or speak to one of the organisers in your church.

Holy Trinity: Helen Williams.

St Mary’s: Eileen and Eddie Kenna.

Christchurch: Audrey and Geoff Shaw.
