Lacuna means many things.  The root of the word is a serene place, by a lake or bay.  More broadly, it refers to a silence, space, or rest — which can be filled or created by words, ideas, sounds.  In music, a lacuna is a long silence or rest, which can “induce a state of serenity (or tension) in the listener through its contrast to ‘normal’ music consisting of sounded notes. Through beautiful sounds and silence, we hope to bring lacunae to you.
