“Re-Fresher Week 2024”.

Holy Trinity Church.

Holy Trinity Church in Bolton-le-Sands is a growing church.  We regularly have over 80 children coming to our “Messy Church” each month.  Our weeekly newsletter goes out online to nearly 300 people.  Our Facebook page has 710 followers and our services on a Sunday has, on average, 130 worshippers.  But church is not about numbers but about community and how our community at Holy Trinity is part of the larger community of Bolton-le-Sands.

“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, but to think with sober judgement, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.” (Romans 12:3-8 )

“Re-Fresher Week 2024”

The purpose of “Re-Fresher Week 2024” was to encourage people to become more involved and active in the life of our community by joining one of our 51+ groups that make up the life of our church.  Everything from Mothers Union to looking after the gardens to helping with Christenings and Weddings.  There were options to join our newly founded Bell Ringers group or to be part of our social media team, managing our website and social media channels.  There are also new ventures to be involved with such as our Pastoral Team who care for the sick and others who need support.  Our Fabrics Team is always looking for additional help to maintain the buildings and grounds of Holy Trinity Church in Bolton-le-Sands and St Mark’s, Nether Kellet.  There has been a church on our site in Bolton-le-Sands since 1054 and we have a responsibility to preserve the heritage of our church buildings.

The week was a great success.  Displays in the church by all the groups and organisations with representatives to answer questions.  Our local Scouts and Guides had a display.  There were talks and games on the theme of “Getting Involved”.  We have had over 74 responses but we are always open to more.

If you would like to find our more about being involved, which could be as simple as helping in the gardens round the church, click on the link below and one of our team will be in touch with you.
