The Revd Peter Hamborg was formally Instituted as the new Vicar of Holy Trinity and St Mark’s at a special service on Sunday 24th April. The service was led by Bishop Jill, the Bishop of Lancaster, and the Archdeacon of Lancaster, Revd David Picken formally inducted Revd Peter into his new parish. The church was full, and a number of people also joined via the Zoom link, and a warm welcome was extended to a large number of Revd Peter’s former parishioners, who had come by coach to support him. As part of the service, Revd Peter was formally welcomed by representatives of the parish and the deanery, as well as representatives from St Mary of the Angels and Christ Church United Reformed Church. Headteacher Daniel Hargreaves welcomed Revd Peter and his family on behalf of the Staff, children and Governors of the School, and looked forward to working together to further the links between church and school.

The hymns, chosen by the new Vicar, were :

Praise My Soul The King of Heaven

There is a Redeemer

I Will Sing The Wondrous Story

After the service, there was a reception at the Community Centre, organised by members of the Social Committee, which gave parishioners a chance to meet Revd Peter a bit less formally.
